For my English readers a new story. About why I don't want to have a pop-up store no more.
The pop-up store I rented last year was a exellent opportunity which I was thinking. I could start selling my handmade products en see if people are liking them or not. The location was in a shop miles away in another town. It was a big succes because there where already 30 pop-up shops in her store. She knew exactly what did sell and which item not, and what a good price was ( what she had in mind) at least that's what she told me.
So I paid a small amount of money for one shelve in that store.
It costs me monthly €25,- euro and if I sold a product they received also 10 % profit over the price of the product. I was very exciting it could work or not and it was a start of my new career.
After four mounths nothing happend I wasn't earning. Not one penny. At the start I asked a much higher price for my products and made a bigger piece. Her advice then was make smaller items with a low price, that will absolutely sell. But it didn't, because the shop didn't attract customers with publicity not at all.
After two months she asked me to put something else on the shelves because I didn't sell well and it was my fault. I was that stupid, and again it didn't sell. So after another month I decided this is it, and I left the store. Relieved of the negative feelings I got in those months. A couple months later she also closed the doors of her shop. So she wasn't selling enough, al the thirty little pop-up stores didn't make enough money to keep her shop going.
